Iran Warns Defensive Response Could Turn Offensive After Ceasefire
The Iranian government has stated that their defensive reaction to the war with the US can become offensive after the lapse of a ceasefire agreement reached in June. Tension still exists regarding the control of the Strait of Hormuz, with the Iranians posing strategic surprises, possibly attacking infrastructure and resorting to guerrilla warfare if their territory is invaded. Although the US is claiming that Iran has been defeated and implying that they can take control of the strait, the Iranians believe that they have stopped the US from achieving their objectives.
